Stock height
Hey guys i'm new here. I looked around some and didn't see anything I was after. So here my question. I have a 2002 ram 1500, swb, reg. cab with the 4.7 and 4x4. The thing is pretty low to the ground. Most people think thats it's a 2wd. My buddy's dad has one with the hemi and its a 4 door and sits up alot higher. whats the difference between the two?
Edit: Basically I want my truck to sit up higher. I cant afford a lift kit, and dont like body lifts.

Thanks for the reply.
As far as I know nothing was changed on it. I bought it off a local guy in his 50's so I dont think he did anything to it. I wouldjust like that extra 2-3 inches of height as the other trucks I see.

A guy who works with me has an '02 RCSB 4x4 originally with the 4.7 and it was stock when I bought mine ('04 QCSB Hemi 4x4) and when they sat next to each other in the parking lot, mine was just barely taller than his, but I had taller stock tires so I'm sure that was the fraction of an inch I sat higher than his.
I've since added a 4" lift kit and 35" tires, he's added a 6" lift and 35" tires and he is about 1.5-2" higher than mine. (Dumbass also has a 318 CI V8 in there as he hydro-locked his 4.7).
But anyway, I'm of the opinion that TDMopar has, sounds to me like your truck has been lowered at some point. There is no significant height difference from one year to another in 3rd Gen. 4x4 Rams...
If you can't afford a suspension lift and don't want a body lift, it doesn't leave you with many choices, does it. If you do a front end level, it ain't gonna do a thing for the rear. Maybe your only cheapy alternative may be to level the front with a kit (2") and then put some 2" blocks in the back. Only solution that comes to mind right now...
