Go RECON - They're Goin'
Yea, I Only Had One Ooops... As You See In the Pic. Everything Else Went Great. Honestly I Found A Foolproof Measuring System and Was Pretty Confident With The Holes n' Such

Thats What I Have Heard Around Here...
But TD IWill SayYour Write Up Inspired Me ToGet My Lights... HOWEVER I Didn't Not Use Your DIY To Install Mine. I Am Guessing You Measured The Cab Lights Off of A Truck That Already Had Them? Or Got Them From Someone Else??
When i Measured My Truck It Was 53" At 6" Above The Winshield.. And 55" Right Where The Winshield/Door/Roof Meet. You Had 52" As Your Meausuring Width... It May Be The Model Year Difference But You "Template" Idea Didn't Work For Mine... It Was A GREAT Concept, But It Flat Out Wouldn't Have Worked For Mine..
As I Tell My Workers... I Will ALWAYS Give Credit, Where Credit Is Due.. But Between The Measurement Issue, and The Lack Of Pictures I Didn't Find Your DIY Helpful. In My Application.
If Others Had Better Luck With It, More Power To Ya! I Have Found A Much More Accurate Way To Measure ANY Vehicle To Fit Cab Lights. I Took My Time, Was Cautious, And Snapped Over 80 Pics Of The Install.
Might Be Harsh, I Am Sorry. Just How It Is.
And If Anyone Is ooberly Confused on What We Are Talking About -Here Is The DIY Install We Are Talking About... Which TD Did A good Job Writing Up.

what were your measure ments for the three center lights and two outer lights? also what were ur measurements across?? where did you get them from just curious?
i Took A Means Of Adaptation... I Called My Local Dealer and The Lead Serviceman Found The Specs For Me (What He Got From The Dealership) and Used Their Concept... Then Modified It.
I Hope I Dont Lose Ya.. And For Anyone Else Reading This, It WILL Sound Greek.
My Cab Measured At 53" Across. Boom, That Put The CENTER Cab Light At 26.5 (DEAD Center, A.K.A Cablight #3). The 2nd and 4th Cablight I Measured Equal Distant Off Of #3.. I Don't Have The Measurement Infront Of Me (And Thats The Only One A Can't Remember), They Are At My Shop. BUT - Cablight Number #1 and #5 Were 5.5" Off The Roof/Door, So They Were Equal In Perception AND In Meaurement. Then To Double Check #2 and #4 I Remember They Were 12.5 Off of #1 and #5.
Now, Like I Said I Measured Across Right Where My Door/Winshield/Roof Point Meet. That Had A Width of 55".. A Difference on 2" From My 53" Measurement. Which Would Mean My #1 and My #5 Where 6.5 Inches Off of Each Door... #2 and #4 Were STILL 12.5 Inches off of #1 and #5 And My #3 Cablight Was 27.5 (Half of 55")...
Just By That Gave My Cablights the Front Facing EXACT Measurement Need.
Now, to Prove My Point That Maybe Greek To You and ANYONE Else Reading This... But Here Is A Few Pics Explaining My Means of Measurement

This Is How I Found 6" Above Winshield

Now The tape Reads 56" Because 3" Is Sticking In My Door On The Otherside... So 0" Is Actually 3"
56" Minus 3" = 53" (At 6" Above Winshield)

So, wich did you actually use?
the "a-hole" or the "f-hole"
So, wich did you actually use?
the "a-hole" or the "f-hole"
F-Hole = Front Hole... I Used That One.
"A. Hole" Was Made When I Drilled "F-Hole" and Pulled Out When The Drill Was Still Spinning and Knicked My Roof. LoL That Was The First Hole I Drilled. I Had That Weird "Gut Feeling" I Drilled Into My Headliner, Which Was At Least 9 Inches Below, So I Pulled It Out REALLY Quick..

Thats How Much Room I Had To Drill With The Headliner Down.
It's 25 Degrees Out Now.. You Couldn't Pay Me To go Outside Now.
Thats The Part I Modified From The Dealer Specs...The "Curve" In The Roof FitTheRecons Much Better Between 4" and 8" From The Winshield (At The Front)
