Does anyone know the gains you get from the JBA Headers on a 5.9 liter gas engine? They are direcect bolt on, but come with a $550 price tag and want to know it it is worth the money in gains.

 

Are you talking shorty's, mid's or LT's here?

 

I might be able to chime in on this

Our headers for the 02 5.9L are considered a shorty style header. HP gains are typically in the 12-15hp range with an additional 15-18FT LBS depending on where you have the truck dynoed at. That testing was done on our Dyno which is a load bearing dyno so you might actually see a bit more than that.

If the vehicle already benifits from a cold air system or cat back exhaust there are also more gains to be made from what I mentioned above.

We offer the headers in a raw stainless or with a silver ceramic coating or a titanium ceramic coating. We typically recommend the ceramic coated headers due to their heat supression abbilities - especially in a truck which poeple use for towing and hauling which puts more of a load on the engine. The ceramic coating retains the heat and blows it out the exhaust where at the raw stainless headers will radiate the heat under the hood- might be something to consider if it is within the budget.
