Towing with Superchips......
Guys,
I have a 29' Travel Trailer that I will be towing this weekend. It will be about a 150 mile trip. The camper hasadry weight of 4890. We are only staying the weekend and won't be packing a whole lot in the camper. The question I have is do I need to put the towing tune in or just use the performance tune with tow/haul on? What are your experiences? Thanks in advance.

I just leave mine in the economy setting. The Two setting puts the shift points at a little higher RPM and you need to run super unleaded $$$$$$$$.$$. Try it one way in one setting and the other setting on the way home and see if you notice a difference. Post it up when your done and let us know how it went. Good Luck
Thanks guys...........I will put the towing program on before I go. I will let ya'll know how it goes after I get back. I am glad I asked before I towed the camper all the way toTalladega!
Yea, the biggest problem I see with towing with the performance setting really has nothing to do with the tranny or shift points, especially when used with tow/haul mode on the truck. It's more of an issue with the way advanced timing that the performance setting uses. I can foresee knocks and pings from hell when trying to tow a lot of weight, especially on hills. Over time, this could be a potential engine killer.
No brainer here, go with the tow tune, it's what it was designed for...
