Default ABS Issues

Ok so I finally changed out my bad front wheel bearing, went to hook up the ABS cable but the plug was different. I ended up splicing the old plug onto the new wire using connectors and shrink tubing. Problem was that the new wires had a white and a black wire where the old one had a brown and a black. I hooked black to black thinking that it didn't really matter but the ABS and brake lights came on in the cluster. I even switched them around thinking that would solve the issue but it didn't. Should I go back to the original sensor and put that on or what? I haven't driven it since the last wire switch should I expect that the warning would go away after a few ignition cycles or what? I am really getting frustrated with this flippin' truck's issues lately.
