I tired this on my 07.... Maybe someone can shed some light on this, but I had a few issues.

1) that thing is almost impossible to get apart without breaking anything. The base is a flexible plastic, while the cover is hard. The base of that thing has a U shaped channel that the cover is glued into, so you have to pry it to get it apart (unless theres something I missed) and all you end up doing is gouging that base up.

2) getting the old glue out.... I couldn't get much of it out personally, which is what makes it so hard to get back together (it doesn't seat right).

3) Sealing it all back up. Mine fogs up a bit now. The clear cover sticks out a tad too, which leaves a gap between it and the fender. Only obvious when you're right up on it, but still annoying.

But, it looks so good I'm tempted to shell out 400$ for nightrunner lights. If I can fix these issues, I'd try it again.

 

Looks like I have a project on this superbowl weekend. Not partial to either team anyway[>:]. Oh well I might have some cool headlights come monday!

 

i dont know too many 06 07's who have done it... mines an 03 and i had no problems.

 

hmmmm..... I was planning on changing out the headlights soon anyway. Maybe I will paint the headlights while I have them out... I might not paint mine black tho...I might go PR4 to match the truck. Any ideas on how that would look? Or maybe I will go black.... decisions, decisions... If I do end up executing this project this weekend (I have some headers and leveling kit I want to install soon) I willtake pics and do a DIY

 

Painting them body color would be cool and different. Post lots of pics. I would do mine body color, but my truck is white and I think the black will look better.

 

I think matching the lights to your truck would look sick...that's why I want to do mine black because my truck is black.

 

I have some PR4 laying around from a previous project too. So it wouldnt cost me anything to do.

td...how did your headlights come apart again? I have not been out there to take them off, so I was wondering if you had any tips before I went out there... Thanks!
