Help!! 04 dodge ram hemi not starting
Hi, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi, 5.7 L with 55,000 miles on it. Last night, I went out to pull it into the garage and it would not start. I had lights andeverything worked but it would not kick over to run. I tried several times. I went back out a couple hours later to try again....same thing. I figuredthe battery might be weak. I will add it was like 62 degrees outside yesterday which compared to the mid-teens we have been having was awesome. So it wasn't due to the cold weather. Anyway, this morning I went out and tried again and it started right now...no problems. I drove it up to autoshop and they checked the battery....said it was good and strong and had great connection. I had the spark plugs replaced less then 1000 miles ago so that shouldn't be the case. I don't know. I drove it all day today and it started every time. Any ideas why it would not start last night and be fine today? I didn't do anything to it. Thanks!
You probably need a new starter. It ran fine after you got it started, and the electrical system appears to be fine, so you're starter must be going out. Doesn't that seem logical?
I would probably say you solenoid was stuck. Sometimes those things get stuck and since u messed with it twice it might just un stuck it. Solenoids are pieces of junk on all factory starters. I would say wait to see if it does it again before u replace anything cause it might of just been that
You just say it didn't start. Like 94rt... asked, what did it do when you turned the key? Did it crank and not start or did it not crank at all, etc.
If it did not crank and that is your original battery, the battery is most likely the problem, I don't care what the shop said. Many of them don't know how to properly load test them.
