Had the same thing happen to me. It was my tranny solenoid locking up. I kept getting stuck in 2nd and 3rd gear. I would floor it on the freeway an it would bog out then accelerate slowly, but would never get out of the stuck gear. I would have to shut it off and wait a few minutes, then it would be fine. I had 1500 miles on mine when it started and the dealer caught it and fixed it real quick. As far as the dying part, mine does that too, but not to often and not doing any one thing. I don;t worry about this though as every vehicle I have has done it. I jsut chalk it up to an air bubble or something stupid like that.
My '05 used to die on me if I tried to accelarate shortly after starting up... like from a parking lot onto a busy street, etc. It would just die on me..... not very cool. Only happened if I gassed it pretty good. Luckily I never got hit as it shut off with me pulling into traffic. Dealer could never figure that one out, but my '07 hasn't one it.
