Default Transfer Case

Well it appears that my 2003 Ram 2500 4x4 Transfer Case is shot. The local Dodge dealership says they are on back order and doesn't know when he can get one. Does anyone out there know of a different source for a transfer case???

Dealership would be my vote but since they are on backorder I would say you've got a wait to deal with.

What is it doing ? Mine is kind of noisy when in 4X4. I tried to get the dealer to change it while on warranty and they wouldn't saying it's normal.

Sounds like a tin can rattling around in the bed of the truck while in 2WD. Haven't tried it in 4WD. Dealer said it was dry, but no evidence of a leak. Might have blown a front seal and leaked into the transmission.
