Has anyone used the spray paint from the dealer. Not the touch up paint but the actual spray paint (I think its a 5 oz spray can)
I ordered 4 cans to paint my tail light guards and grill and was wondering if anyone else has used patriot blue and how was the color match.

 

Color match on the colors I used was good.

 

I went to a automotive paint and body supply store and they actually supply aeresol paint that they mix and colormatch. They can fill these cans with clearcoat integrated custom colormatch paint and the nozzles on these cans actually spray the proper spray pattern than the regular aeresol paints with will give you a much better finish. They cost a little bit more, but they are worth it.

 

Would I use a gray primer for the patriot blue??

If your lens covers are plastic, there is a special primer that you need to use before applying the color. Check with the local parts store since I can't remember who makes it.

 

the paint in the cans should EXACTLY MATCH your truck..if not, they gave you the wrong paint.
