How old do you consider to be old & worn out? My truck is 5 years old now and I bought it 6 months ago. It's just getting started!

I have an 02 with 94000 miles and it still rides like a new one, fixes are better than a big car payment.

well i bought this 2002 last august of 2007, so its pretty new to me too. i bought it with 87,000 miles and actually made a profit just on buying it. bought it for a steal of 8500 and can sell it for around 11,000. i figured i would sell it for a 2006 or 07 towards august or september. its nothing major of problems, just 6 years old, going on 7 for 2009. its approaching 100,000 miles, and has here and there problems which can only be expected. im having a major misfire problem right now, and its just frustrating me. its also my first car/truck. when august comes i will have had for a year, and will have saved up quite a bit of money from now until then. with the money from this truck plus whatever i make, especially over summer when schools out. i will easily be able to buy a 06 or 07 used with about 30k miles on it.

I had major misfire problems about 3000 miles ago. Turned out to be collapsed valves and a thrown rocker arm. Thankfully I still had a bit of warranty left and got a new engine, more or less. Of course it seems they damaged the rear main seal when they put it in and now won't return my calls to get it fixed.

I never had nothing like that at 17, I always drove junk! I spent many days and nights under it working on it to keep it running.

also, me being able to afford my truck...im fortuante enough that my dad owns his own business, actually a tree service and down here thats big business. i was able to work for him, very hard, intensive work, however i made a few thousand a month during the summer time. also being young i dont have any bills to pay for. all i pay for is gas. trucks paid off. go out on the weekends with my girlfriends, and thats about all i spend. im getting a part time job next week to make some extra cash to start putting away for my next truck. and ill work for my dad again in the summer and thats where ill be able to make enough money for the new truck, along with selling this one.
