JD1500 which magnaflow muffler do you have??

 

I honestly dont know. I went to the local muff shop and told them i wanted to get a magnaflow, they knew the right size and put it on.

I had them cut the front res off, put the magnaflow on. Sounded good, expecially when you got on it. really tame on the highway. i just wanted it louder so i took it back and had the rear res cut off. Sounds great, but you can hear the mds now. i don't mind it though.

 

ok i'll check into it... Is yours the polished shiny muffler or the dull look??

 

I have a Magnaflow and I think it sounds better with the MDS on actually. It's the dull single in dual out.

 

... someone told me, if your battery is disconect for a longer time, the mds will be shut off by the software.
so you have the 8 cylinders at anytime

 

I think that is true, but MDS will come back after a few miles of driving.

 

i have to hate mds. i have not figured out if it is my issue yet or not, but here it is, sometimes while in park or at a stop sign my tach will shoot to 200rpm and sit there for a couple seconds then shoot back to 550 and all the time it sounds normal and altanator doesnt slow down. does any one else know what is causing this? ohh and im not amused with it because i think if you are in 4wheel drive and stop it i have got it to ping loud once.

 

what magnaflow do you have? I have a gibson and love the sound but hate the mds 150%!!! My buddy also has an 06 and put a magnaflow on it last week and called me to ask why it sounds like S%$T. Do they have anything out to shut it off or eliminate it?
