Default Torque Converter

Anyone here have an aftermarket torque converter? I saw an APS one that claims you get 30 more rear wheel horsepower. Is this true and is it worth the money?

Good question...I hear they make a stealth version which I might be interested in (for warranty).

Also i've read on here that the TC is the reason there's so much drivetrain loss on the Rams....so the hp gains could be true.

On other applications howeverthere isn'ttypically any gain hp wise, any gain would be in torque since that's one of the things a TC does...multiply torque. Even if there isn't a gain anywhere a TC is still one of the best mods for a slushbox....bar none. It'll put you and keep you in the sweet spotof the power band...that's the main reason to get one anyway.

A stalled, geared auto on stickies is nothing to sneeze at and is very dangerous from adig. You know what they say....sticks impress high school kids while stalled autos win drag races

Ya It sounds like this would be a good mod since the stock TC sucks so much power from our Hemi's. Plus you would get alot more power out of every mod you make since more of it is getting to the ground. Hmm maybe we can do a group buy on this in the future.

Best mod you can do. I did mine and couldn't be happier. I got mine from Moe's Performance. I couldn't power brake my 20's before and now, I just punch it and it goes up in smoke without touching the brakes! I would does this over any other mod. Spend the money and get a good one!!!!!!

Any mpg gains?

Obviously you need to drop the trans but is there any other complications to installing one? Do you need to rev the motor higher before it takes off from a stop? I didnt want to affect my driveability but i'd love more mpg and power in a lasting package.
