Default help with air/fuel gauge

I was at Summit Racing today in Tallmadge OH and decided to pick up a narrow band air/fuel gauge, I know I should of got a wide band, anyways, I hooked it up tonight and there is one light on all the way at the rich end and never moves, no bouncing around, nothing. just one light and thats all. I have the 4 wire O2 sensors but I'm wondering if is possible the sensors are wideband. The guy who owned this truck before me put the exhaust on so I don't know if he upgraded the sensors or did I do something wrong. I hooked up to the black wire of the O2 sensor and its a AutoMeter gauge. I'm going to get thewideband in the Spring anyways but what the hell is wrong with this one.
