Alarm activates while driving vehicle
I’ve been experiencing a very strange intermittent electrical problem on my ’02 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 5.9L. The panic alarm has gone off while driving the vehicle when flashing the high beams causing the lights and horn to flash. The strange thing is that I don’t have a security system on the truck, only factory remote keyless entry. The RKE transmitter’s panic button won’t turn it off, turning off the truck or waiting for it to time out doesn’t work, and the only way to stop the wailing is to disconnect the battery. This has happened twice, both on snowy days and both times it went off immediately after flashing the high beams.
My best guess is wet connections to the BCM module located under the hood on the left fender. Anyone else want to take a guess before I take it to the dealer?
