I've got an 07 hemi that startedout to have what i hear is the normal tap at idleat 6K.It was just intermittent then.Took it in for oil change and they said it was normal. Now i've got 12K and the noise is considerably louder but still just at idleand fuel mileage dropped 4-5MPG. I got out one night and could see an orange glow. To my surprise the left bank manifold and cat were red hot. Didn't look at the other side. AnywaysIts back at the dealer again and they are telling me the same crap. In myopinion if there is a tapping noise there most likely is a clearance issue, and if thats the case there is going to be premature wear over time which by no means is that NORMAL. Just wondering if anyone has had any of these issues and if anyone has had any luck in getting it resolved.

Nope, but as long as you keep your warranty work in good standing that lifetime powertrain warranty that '07+'s have is pretty sweet. I would also check with another dealership.
