Default Tires!

I have a question about tires on my ram. when i had my tires rotated and balanced, my steering has been harder to handle. what would all of a sudden cause this problem. Just for information, i have 295/50R20. I have another question. Would i get better handling and ride quality with the 60 height instead of 50 or 55?

You are not going to get better handling by going from a 50 series to a 60, you would have to go from a50 seriesto a 40 or 45 series and even doing that you might not notice much of an improvement without suspension upgrades. However, you do get a better ride quality with the 60 series over the 50's, and it is a little safer when you run over a curb or rock or whatever. I think 60 or 65 series are safer and more practical way to go for your Ram, especially if it is 4WD. 50 series usually means a 20 inch rim or bigger and more money.

I see that you also have a 2 inch drop on your Ram and if you do go to 60 series tires you might have to check for heigth clearence as the diameter will be a little bigger for the same size width tire, something to consider. Or if you really want better handling get rid of the Falken's and get some Toyo's in the same size.

the higher your sidewall, the more lean you'll get from it giving you less handling. I have 55's on mine and I'm very happy with them. I just bought those General Grabber: 275/55/20. excellent tire!!!
