Autostick install?
Noob here. Just got my first Dodge. I like it overall but sometimes I miss my manual transmission. I was looking around and found a lot of people like the autoshift on the new Charger. Anyone know if we can install one of these systems on a Ram? I would love the ability to switch back and forth between automatic and manual (sort of).
Wow, With The Auto-Transmissions They Shift Off of Vaccum - Compaired to Early Transmissions They Now Are Computer Controlled. There Would Have To Be A Whole New Program or Interference Programmer To Install Any Sort of Electronic Shift. Unless Any Vehicle Is Set Up To Be Computer Shifted - Such As "Triptronic" Developed by Porsche. I Couldn't Imagine The Transmissions In Dodge Trucks Would Allow Electronic Shifting..
As A Fact, I Know In Performance Programmers - When You Control Your Shift Points It Is Based On The Computers Stock Programming and "Cleans Up" The Computer Contolled VaccumShift Points.

The difference with an autostick and a floor or column shifter is this;
When you put an auto trans into lets say 2nd gear and come to a stop. The trans automatically goes into 1st and you cannot prevent that.
With the autostick system, if you start out in 2nd, you start out in 2nd, not first.
Doesn't look like that can be done in our trucks, yet.
Computer control is electronic control.
