[:@] I puled in the the driveway this afternoon and as I was walking away from the truck, I noticed this hose (1/4 thick maybe) hanging under the truck. I crawled under and found that one end is connected to the transmission or transfer case and the other end looks like it is a breather valve of some sort. near the valve end there is a clip (the cheap push in plastic type) but I do not know where this is supposed to go?

any ideas?

 

It should be coming out of your transfer case and it pops up into the engine compartment to keep it higher than any water you might encounter and the end acts as a check valve to let excess pressure out and not let waterin. There is also one for your front axle in the engine compartment as well.

 

crazy thing, when I had my 06. second day I had it (bought it off the lot brand new) the same thing happened. I had them deal with it, but just climb under, and look, you will find the area.

Thanks. Sharx made it for me after I got stuck pulling someone out and it took 2 trucks to pull me out. a lifted chevy hd and a lifted 4 runner. each was strapped up to one of my front recovery hooks and it took 3 trys to get me out. you were able to see maybe 2-3 inches of the 35's on the passenger front and maybe 6-8 inches on the drivers front. I change up to different sigs 9mostly joke ones from time to time. I have some great ones.
