warranty from dodge or aftermarket
Just purchased a 2005 ram 1500 4x4 4.7L with 51000 miles. Im stumped on what to do and you guys have not steered me wrong so here goes! The truck has whats left of its 7yr/70K powertrain only warranty which cost me $150 to transfer or The lot i bought is from is offerieng a bumper to bumper for $750. both have the same $100 ded. so in your honest opinions what do i do.
How long is the bumper to bumper good for. I would honestly take the bumper to bumper and find out if you get a refund at the end of the period. Also find out out who offers the bumper to bumper. Is it Dodge or a different outfit.
$750 for 19k miles coverage seems a bit excessive. The $150 for the power train might be worthwhile, but maybe only if you're experiencing some issues. Otherwise, the drivetrain is probably OK.
The bumper to bumper is through a private warranty not from dodge. Its a 3 yr 45000 mile. $100 ded. it is $750. Dodge is offering the remainder of the 7yr70k. From the factory. for the transfer fee of $150. Are there many problems with this model dodge.
Man... it might be worth the 750 bucks to provide you with the peace of mind, but to be honest I have not had good luck with 3rd party warranties. Does the dealer selling you the warranty also do the reapair work. I didn't see if it was a bigdealer or something smaller.
I agree...I would take it... ask if the Warranty is refundable at the end of the 3 years if you dont use it. Honeslty if something as simple as the motor in one of your windows or a bad solenoid somewhere.. there is your warranty.
I had one on my wife's car. After sever years .... we never used it and they refunded 80% of it. Worth a shot.
