i am in and out of the tailgate and the cab to get my tools and put them back and my tools go in the same spot all the time so i knowwhere they are so i don't go hunting for a drill or a speed squareand some time i forget if i closed the tailgate so i have to stop the truck and check. i think i going to give my self an ocd.

OUCH. One of My Guys Did That TWICE In One Week.

Yes I Do Have A Proven Resolution.

Install a BRIGHT LED In Your Truck... Run The Power To The LED, Then Run A Ground To A Hood Switch To Your Tailgate.

I Am Doing This Myself. If You Want Me To Provide You With The Part Number (Carquest) or If You Want to See How I Will Do It. I Will Most Likely Be Doing It This Weekend. Or Just PM me

I would like to see this too, I think I see another DIY in your future. If you don't mind. That would be a very good thing for me. Because I forget sometimes if I shut it or not too.

Go to Radio Shack and look for a window sensor for a home alarm system, I'm sure you can wire it up to a light to let you know when it's down.

maybe i am being a little too harsh, but after one or two occurances and shelling out $$$ for replacement tools, would you not learn the lesson and make it a habit to check the tailgate. There is a tool that comes with every RAM and its the rear view mirror. Here is a free slogon for you to use around the company.... "Before putting it in gear, check the rear view mirror".

Again, it may out a bit harsh but if its that important to you that the tailgate was up I would think that it would become just habit to check before driving off. Just my two cents worth.
