hey guys leaving work today and i get in my truck and start and let it sit for a few minutes to warm than i put it into dirve and start going and it would not go above 30 and wouldnt shift out of 1st gear. My truck is a 2005 1500 Ram 4x4 5.7 i live in buffalo so its pretty cold out but its never done this before i only have 27000 miles on it. Wierd thing is when it was just revving like it a governor or something no check engine light popped on or blinked or anything it did this a few times than drove like it always did like nothing happened any advice would be appreciated thanks

only thing ive heard regarding cold weather is OD wont kick in if its really cold. other than that cant help ya. youre still under warranty let the dodge monkeys deal with it.

AT 35,000 I JUST STARTED HER UP AND WENT FOR A DRIVE AND ABOUT 5 MILES LATER I HAD BLOWN 3RD GEAR AND SPUN THE TORQURE CONVERTER. THIS IS WHE NI WAS STILL NEW TO THE TRUCK SOO I HAD NOT BEEN GETTING ON IT AT ALL. MINE IS ALSO AUTO. MINE WOULD SHIFT FINE THROUGH 1ST AND 2ND BUT THEN WOULD REV UP REAL HIGH AND THEN DROP LIKE IT FELL OUTA GEAR. WAS THIS A ONE TIME THING OR SOEMTHING THAT IS NOT GOIN AWAY?? IT WAS UNDER WARRENTY THOUGH.

 

mine does that but just with OD like ram said but not any other gear. but i agree its under warranty let the dodge mechanics work on it.

 

The trans doesn't warm in in park. You have to start driving it, knowing that it will be really sluggish until the trans gets up to temp.
