Hello,

I have a 04Dodge Ram Hemi. I have noticed I have this irritating clicking sound coming from the engine compartment on the right side, but only under acceleration. The sound does not duplicate itself in PARK or under a load in DRIVE with the brakes held. Only under normal driving and only under acceleration.

I have a cold air intake, Hypertec program burned in, Flowmaster CAT backexhaust. I also have a 6 inch lift with oversized all terrain tires if that helps.

I thought I possibly had an exhaust leak, but recently had this inspected with no issues reported. I believe its not a valve tapping but not totally sure. I have been told that it could be a bad CAT. I have changed the Hypertec program to several defferent settings even back to thestock program and it still remains. I have changed gas brands and octane grades and stillto no avail. I have also removed the CAI and it still was present.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

 

I have heared of the hemi's having that tick in that year.I dont know if a cure was found but put your warranty to the test and take it in.There is nothing you can lose and lots to gain.
