how long does it take for your truck to warm up...
I garage mine as well - it never really goes below 45 in there and my truck warms up very fast - less than 5 minutes. It also gets so warm - I really have to pull back on the temp during my commute @22miles. Today - we're havin' some snow (about 7 in. so far) and its about 20 degrees - I had to move it around the parking lot so the plow guy could clean it up and, again, it warmed up in less than 5. I'll probably be back on the board this summer complaining about an overheat!
My New Ford Has Supplemental Heaters.. It's A Glowing Element That Heats Up Like an Igniter in A Furnace.. It Honestly Defrosts and Heats My Cab In About 1 Minute From Start Up. Don't Know Why Every Vehicle Doesn't Have Something Like That.[sm=confused06.gif]
start it up about 10 mins before i leave for school, then once i drive about 1/2 mile or so, my engine temp gauge starts going up little by little
thanks redram - same to you - nice lookin' ride. i'm also quite impressed with your Recon Light DIY - holy crap - i don't know which was more difficult - doing the job or documenting how you did the job! nice work!! thanks for the welcome
Apparently some people don't know what cold IS! LOL!
Try 10 minutes at 1400 rpm, then 100 miles at highway speeds (62mph) before the engine temp needle even MOVES off cold, and another 100 miles after that before it's warm enough in the cab to take mitts off.
That was at -47°F about a month ago, and no I'm not talking about windchill.....actual temperature.

usually let it warm for 10 before i get in it, by that time (as long as i remember to turn the defrost on) the truck is warm and ready to go... besides the TStat, which doesnt get up to temp for atleast 4 miles at highway speed. all in all i'd say 15 minutes until i turn the heat down to maintain
