Default better mpg

HiI am 17 andI just purchased a 2003 dodge ram 1500 2wd regular cab with a hemi. I ordered a cold air intake and a cherry bomb glasspack. Now sinceI got thoseI am looking into getting better mpg. I still dont know what I am getting per gallon but i knowI need to make it better. What can I do? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. First a major tune up never hurts, get some synthetic running throughout. If you have oversized tires a new set of gears will help, lets see, a tuner. and the single most important thing......... Driving style. coast up to the red lights, getting a vehicle moving from 10mph is much easier then from zero. tire pressure. Shocks. Lets see dome pics of the truck and congrats on the purchase, when I was 17 I had a Chevette and a 5th avenue. both were obtained for less then $900 combined.

Dont drive with your foot to the floor. With the CAI and glasspack youll get a couple MPG... but just like the guy above me said... driving style.

And a kind word of advise. Dont drive the snot out of it and it'll make you a great truck for years. When I was 17 I had a '90 Ranger with a 4 cylinder. Fenders flapping, and slight miss. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Also a tonneau cover would help.

Dodge and Raptor 700! Cool I have a dodge and a raptor 700 too! You on the raptor forum?

Anyway, yeah keep the speed down, keep the RPM's at or below 2k and you will be good.

When I was 17 my first car was a 67 Mustang!
