I seem to remember from an old article I read, that for every gallon of fuel burned.................8 gallons of vapour/water is produced.
Yep, my 03 Hemi also makes this gunky yellowy white deposit in the top of the fill cap.
As said earlier, condensation from short trips is the culprit.

Al
i think thats 8 ounces there bud....

it seems that whole little funnel thing on my 4.7 gets the milky gunk in it, not just the cap, but the oil is stay a nice honey color, no water signs on the dipstick.

He he he..................I get them off my *** by saying that I'm recycling their waste product!!!!

When they say what???[sm=dontgetit.gif]I tell them very tongue in cheek that I run on LPG which is a waste product from the refining of oilifines etc.

Oh and by the way, that piece of cr*p your running around in, is 20 times dirtier in particulate emissions.
So...........who's doing what for the environment now?? [sm=jawdrop.gif]

It kills em' dead ha ha ha and I get cheap motoring as well.[sm=happy046.gif]
