Get a full tank of 91+ octane in the tank, use the "Performance" tune (believe me, the timing advance will give you better net mpg's than the "economy" tune with 87 octane gas) if you can stay off the gas pedal.
You'll also have a bit more HP & Torque and the tranny shifts will be much crisper than what you are used to...

I keep mine on Performance all the time. Tried economy but the mpg went down and a noticeable difference in performance. I think the mpg gains abut make up for the cost difference.
You will also notice it going in and out of MDS. I almost got rid of mine until I got used to it.

correct me if im wrong, but isnt it true that if you have more HP you get better mpg? i mean this in a trucks sense. not some little civic v. ram. in my pops' work trucks, they can tune between 470 and 520hp. we have them tuned at 490. they say if we tune them to 520, wed get better mpg. would this ring true with our trucks? i mean, this is what got me:

What kind of works trucks your pops have?
that is true to a point, but somewhere along the line, you cross the threshold. If you have more power to move the truck, it is easier, therefore better economy. yet it takes more fuel and air to make more power, so less mpg. You meet somwhere in the middle.

The biggest boost camewhen Iadded LT Headers to the CAI & cat back exhaust. The headers give you better HP & Torque to be sure, but added asolid 1.5-2 mpg as well...
