Default Newbie from Arlington, TX

Hello,
My name is Kendra and I bought my 2002 Blue Ram 1500 on Jan 31, with 43K miles.
No mods as of yet, but I have abox that im going to put2 JL AUDIO 10W3V2-D4 10", behind the seat, exhaust and tint, are next.
I was going to put HIDs, but they were too expensive for me.
I also have a 1970 Fastback, thats a show car.

I have a problem with the ram right now, the heater just stopped working. Luckily its been slightly warm lately so its not that big of a problem, but its supposed to get cold soon. It started where, I would turn the defroster on, it worked fine, then I would put the vents on, still worked, then out of nowhere it would change and freeze you out.
Now, the defroster isnt even warm..Any idea?

Welcome to the forum, nice looking Mustang. I don't know about your heater though, today is the day you just might need it.

Welcome - I am sure someone will chime in on your heater.

Arlington sure has grown - I grew up on the arlington/mansfield border - it's totally different than when I grew up there now.

Hi Kendra and welcome!

This could any number of things, first check to see if you have proper coolant in the radiator, when the coolant gets too low you will have no heat.

Coolant and Thermostat would be the first things to look at, secondly, Chrysler products are plagued by blend door issues (the mechanical "doors" that open the system to allow hot air produced by the engine into the vent system). Hopefully it's not a blend door issue, the door/mechanism is a relatively cheap part but labor consists of taking out the whole dash and basically disconnecting and reconnecting everything connected to the dash. Labor runs over a grand. I recently had the problem in my '02 Grand Cherokee daily driver and it was a good eight hour job for me in the driveway and is not a job to undertake yourself unless you are very mechanically inclined.
Let's hope it's not that...
