Hello everyone im new on here and i am lookin at possibly putting 35-12.50-17 cooper stt under my 2003 ram 1500 4x4 i have cranked the torsion bars to make the truck level i have read some of the posts on here andfind thereare mixed feelings like will they fit or not and power loss. i am wondering has anyone done this and do they rub and ispower loss a concern i am however going to put a programmer on the truck to calibrate for the new tire size looking at bully dogs power pup programer it seems to offer the most power gains of all programers ive researchedwill take suggestions on any others would like to see pictures if you have 35-12.50-17 on a leveled 1500 4x4 Thanks Matt

Default RE: Tire Size?

They will clear on a leveled truck, but will have issues if you plan on any real off-roading. Plus the ride on the cranked t-bars will be real stiff.
If your stock gears are 3.92's the power loss will be noticeable but not terrible, if you have the 3.55s you won't be able to get out of your own way and a tuner is a nice mod, but won't help the situation much.
Although nothing compares to a suspension lift for ride quality with bigger tires, especially off-road, a very inexpensive compliment with your t-bar crank would be a two or three inch body lift. You could get the kit w/bumper kit and the well liners for under $400 and it's not a hard install with a jack and jack stands in the driveway. With the front cranked about 2" and the body lift combo it would give you a really nice stance with those 35's...

Default RE: Tire Size?

i have 392 gears and ive looked at a possible 4" suspension lift down the road so when i bought tires i thought i would by larger ones as to not have to buy them again. but a body lift seems like a waste of time the clearance im worried about is A arm clearance srock 265/70-17 set about 2 inches away from upper a arm
