Default me again

Just looking forcheap prices on a 5-6 inch lift for my 2004 1500SLT 4X45.7L truck. I 'am not going to be off roading at all. Looking for the least expensive but dependable lift kit. Also I canned the k&n cold air intake. I amlooking towards the true-flow or theA.E.M brute which oneis better for performance? I am not real sure if i am keen on the superchips, i think it's allot of money for such little improvement. The exhaust looking atManaflow, Vortex or Flowmaster 50 series single in duel out. Which is the best for performance wise? .

As far as the superchips goes. If you put 12 - 15k miles on your vehicle each year in about 18 months your superchips will have paid itself off IN FUEL SAVINGS ALONE! That was the clincher for me putting a superchips flashpaq tuner on my truck, I have never looked back either.

Superchips is an awesome name brand so I dont know where you dont like it. Sure it's expensive, but the power/fuel economy you gain is much worth it. As far as an intake, I am running a Trueflow XDI and cant complain at all. Installation was easy and it definetely improved the low-end torque in my truck. Flowmaster makes a great exhaust, especially the 50 series.I have the Super 40 in mine and all I can say is the sound it produces is great. And in terms of a suspension lift, 6" isnt the way to go especially if your not gonna do ANY off-roading...though I dont understand why you'd buy a 4x4 in the first place. As far as a great lift, I'd look at Rancho's 4" lift....talk to hammerz71..he can give u the better lowdown. I myself am getting the 3" Rough Country lift...There is really no point to having a 6" lift if your not gonna slap on huge tires and go off roading

There is no such animal as a CHEAP suspension lift. For price, the Fabtech has always been considered the "bargain" brand, but that is not to imply it is inexpensive by any means. My Rancho 4" lift offers top notch ride comfort and handling both on and off road, but costs as much or more than all but the highest end 6" kits.
If you indeed intend on doing it solely for looks and are just going to be a "pavement queen" then a relatively inexpensive alternative would be to combine a level kit with a 3" body lift kit (just make sure you get one with the bumper bracket and rear well liners). The ride will be quite a bit harsh compared to a suspension lift, but by combining the two systems you will have a perfectly level stance with the equivilent of a 5" lift. A level kit can be had for around $100 and a body lift kit with the bumper bracket and well liners would be roughly $400, less than a third the cost of even the cheapest suspension kit.
Another plus is that the level kit/body kit combo is MUCH easier and cheaper to install, hell it's not that big of a deal for 2 people to do, in the driveway, with a few jack stands and common hand tools...

Thanks Hammerz71 love the pavement queen title your the best . I plan on going with 35 inch tires. So lets just stay with the susp lift drop it back to 4 inch lift. Who gives the best deals on rancho? As for the super chips thanks for the advice. How much does it improve gas milage? I am getting 13 around town and about 17 on highway if i keep with 70 mph.

I paid about $1700 to the door a little over two years ago. I got it from 4 Wheel Parts as they were running a special at the time where you got 4 adjustable Rancho 9000X shocks for free with the kit plus free ground freight.
Shocks are not included, so this was about $360 in shocks for free. I was living in GA. at the time and a hunting club buddie's father owned 2 tire stores, so I got the use of a lift on a sunday. Took the two of us the better part of ten hours for the install, but that included two meal breaks, so I'd say it was about eight hours actual work time. I left it there over night and paid them for an alignment the next day, so I guess the alignment cost was my only expense on the install, plus the meals I bought my helper.
I'd only done five body lift installs between my own and friends trucks before this suspension lift and my helper had never done one either, but worked at the tire store, so we both had good experience around trucks. I got to say that the suspension lift is way more involved, plus I really can't see you being able to do it without a lift, unlike body lifts that I've done in the driveway before...

I have the shop to do the work. My buddy owns a two bay gas station with a lift in one bey, ceiling height 25 feet. Plus he's a 4x4 specialist. He's done numerous susp lifts and body lifts and level kits. This will be my first learning exp with this.
