My new toy!
No i've never rode a sport bike before so yah thats why i went with the 600cc, and yah exhaust is one of my top priorities, after a jacket and helmet lol. Also your r1 is sweet....hopefully one day i will have one but damn thats a nice bike!
bikes are definately fun but they are extremely dangerous when you first learn. This year will be my 6th riding and it's still scary out there. When i was looking at bikes all my buddies said buy used cause you will crash but i was like that aint gonna happen, 2 months later i crashed my brand new R6. you should look into getting a crash cage for your bike.

the cage is bulky but when you do go down there will be little to no damage to your bike, where as with sliders your gonna have damage. Sliders are meant to protect protect the frame only. i've had sliders on my bike when i went down and they barely protected the fairings. When your first learing your not gonna be rippin it any ways so i dont think the cage will be a huge deal. either way get something though! Ebay will be your best friend for bike parts and accessories.
yeah be carefull, some worthless sack of waste at my old job thought he was the ****, bought a new busa, had never rode before, well within a month, splat, broken neck = dead. hauled his body back to peurto rico.
so good to know you started off with a slower bike. even though its a 600 (at least it is for the R1 and R6) the R6 will still beat an R1 off the line, its got quicker low gears, then once third gear is reached good luck that R1 will be @$$ raping your girl before you even top out. lol. so be be carefull, dont let the 600 fool you.

No R6 I know will beat my R1, especially off the line and if they do its because I cant keep the front end down. And the newer R1's have a lacking in the low end, they really need to be sprocketed to get them going. And now I have a Micron high mount exhaust, power commander 3 w/ custom map, Velocity stacks, vortex sprockets down 1 in the front and a dynojet quick shifter. So it moves pretty good.

A stock 02 R1 to a stock 02 R6, I have my money on the R1 and yes even off the line. Why, 02 R1's have a better low end first off and they are also fuel injected compaired to the R6's carbs. So the R1 will have better fuel delivery and more throttle response. And a 600 wont walk away from a 1000 off the line, they will keep up until 2nd 3rd gear.
And I could care less about the tundra or the dodge or chevy or ford or whatever.
