Hi everybody, I have this problem where when my gas tank gets to about 1/8 full my check engine light comes on. When this happens, the engine misfires. Took it to the dealer and after fueling up to get there the light went out. This week again the same thing happened. Instead of thr dealer checking out the code (the light remained on this time) he told me to put some Heet dry gas in the tank; however ,the miss is gone but the light is still on. Also when this happens and the engine misses, the exhaust smells very strong as perhaps it's causing a problem with the catalytic converter.

Anyone else ever experience this problem, and what results did you find?

if you can, next time it happens try to swing by Auto Zone or Advance Auto or somethin along those lines and have the, pull the code for ya...it'd be a little more helpful it trying to diagnose it....have you tried using a different brand of gas? Try switching over to Shell or something like that and see if it still happens
