Default Rev limiter in neutral or park???

I have an 06 dodge 1500 Hemi and whenever i try to rev it up in park or neutral it stops at 4000rpms then slowly winds back down. i can't get it to rev higher then that and onceits revving down i cant rev it back up until its around 2-2500 rpms. is this an actual problem or does this truck just limit how much you can rev it in neutral or park? my buddy has an 07 and his doesn't do it. any help would be appreciated.

Yep, park and neutral limit your revs, my 07 does it. If you watch my exterior exhaust video in my sig you can hear it hit....

Just about everything in our trucks runs into the computer, It limits the rev's, speed, shifts and just about everything else you can think of. You can change some of it by installing a chip and changing the program. You will see a bunch of listing for those in these forums.

And the purpose of this is.....

It does that for a reason, it's not good to be stomping on it while your not going anywhere.
