Recently on a two hour drive my charge gauge shot up all the way to the piont that the check guage popped on. It then went down and up to the limit a few times before settling down although i think it is still a chargeing a little on the high side. Also the needle now moves a little all the time staying past the halfway point. I am running a rockford amp.

same thing happend to me but i was plowing with my ram. i just replaced the alt. with a heavy duty one and havent seen it move since!
