lamp out with h.i.d. kit

I just hooked up a H.I.D kit and the lamp out light is on but all the lights are working. Is the kit hooked up wrong or do all H.I.D kits make that light come on.

put a piece of electrical tape over the lamp out light. works every time.

Already did that...lol...added a piece over my check engine light too.

maybe theres a diff amt of elec running through the fusebox or wherever the sensor is and its confusing it.
