amazing

I just got my new Summit Racing catalog and saw this hood and was just all over reading about it. This things rocks. Summit also has it the cheapest overall with the shipping.

And to answer your question, driving in the rain will not hurt, but if you are out 4X4ing or drive next to a rig that splashes 100 gallons of water over your hood, then yes your engine will hydrolock and you will be screwed. So if your truck is your daily driver, you will not want to get a ram air hood.

Here's a pic of one for those interested:

As far as water getting in, if you have any sort of exterior to intake system you run the risk of sucking up some water in the engine. Especially when gravity assists the water getting into the intake. While it still runs the risk the an intake that takes air from a lower point can be less likely to suck water as gravity assists in keeping the water out.

u seriously redice the risk of water getting in by getting a tightly wound mesh insert...water will still get in but much less

good idea anyway cause it will keep bugs and other larger particles from getting in causing less debri to have to clean up when cleaning the air filter.....its a big deal when you have to deal with salt in the winter
