All,

I have an '07 HEMI QC Big Horn, Black. I am considering painting my grille black, but leaving my chrome bumpers (front and rear) along with the chrome siding on the doors. I will also leave the RAM head in the center of my grille chrome!!!!

I'm curious what you all think about this idea. I would paint all four quadrant bordersof the grillethat are currently chrome and I would also paint the billets from chrome to black.

I have a guy that willsand the chrome and put 8mm of paint on for me for $100.

OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

 

you're better off leaving the chrome, and finding someone with a plastic grill, and having that painted instead of the chrome.

i'd love to do it, but learned by trying to haggle redrams, that my grill in different =(

 

do it man....painted mine and i love it. make sure they sand ALL of the chrome and are very particular at doing so. i got the idea from a buddy who had a white ford f-250...2005 and painted the grille black....looked sick as hell, so i decided i was going to paint mine. but on his, they painted it good, but apparently didnt sand it well enough and after a year or so they paint started to flake off, not all over but just on top where the sun beat down on it....now you can see a tiny bit of scratched chrome and primer under neath the top. but he recently bought a plastic grille that was meant to be paited and it turned out great. mine was chrome, got painted and NO problems so far and i love the look and it would be better on your truck bc its black. for my 07 im probally gonna get an SLT if i cant find a sport and paint the grille and back bumper and buy a sport bumper from dodge.

i would leave your grille insert alone though....just paint the grille shell, but thats IMO and what i did.

 

Anyone else have opinions??

I think I'll paint my grille for sure and I had planned on painting the inserts too, but I've heard a couple opinions that say to leave the inserts chrome.

What do you guys think?

Painted grille = stud
Chrome grille = virgin.

i do like the idea of all blacks, and raiders truck looks really nice, however you mentioned that you were going to leave your bumpers chrome. and IMO i think the chrome bars would tie into the bumpers better. raiders looks good because the WHOLE thing is black.... but that ony my opinion, and i know either way, whatever you do, itll come out nice
