Skyjacker CV angles
I just hadthe skyjacker 6inch installed on my '05 1500. After looking at the work done I noticed my CV half-shafts are at a extreme angle. I am pretty sure this can pose a serious problem in the near future. Can anyone post any pictures of their angles or elaborate on this? Also, at full turn I can hear the boots rubbing on themeselves. Should I crank down the torsion bars or am i just being paranoid?
A radical increase in the CV angles can have an adverse effect on not only the CV Joints but other front end components as well. I know one thing I liked when I researched suspension lifts was that the 4" Rancho kit does not change the CV Joint angle significantly.
I wouldn't really mess with the t-bars though, as this will through your alignment off and cause you other problems.
Skyjacker has a very good reputation though, and I'd choose not to think that their kit would increase this angle to a point where it would cause a major issue.
I'd be more prone to think your problem is from the 37" tire height which is 2" taller than that which is recommended for any IFS truck. Everybody I've seen with serious front end issues, be it CV Joints, Ball Joints, etc. has had 37" or larger tires on a relatively weak (when compared to a SRA front end) IFS truck. Many suspension lift installers make you sign a disclaimer if you run tires larger than 35" on an IFS truck so they don't have any liability...

Yeah, if you can post up some pics, of your cv's, and of your truck. Sounds pretty cool with the lift.
I would also think that with skyjacker being a solid, reputable company. it is A) fine, or B) the shop didn't put something on.

The first one is with the wheels straight, second is with it completely turned to the left. I will post some pics of wheelin soon as the weather gives us some decent mud. thx
