Ok so...ive had my ram 2500 for about 2 weeks now, bought it used and im pullin my hair out. It has an intermittent problem where the check engine light comes on and so does a flashing red light it the lower left corner of the cluster kinda looks like a lightning bolt with inverted Parenthesis (sp?). When these lights are on the truck keeps wanting to stall at idle, it runs fine at driving RPM. ALSO im getting roughly 8.5 MPG with most of it being highway driving.....anyone have any ideas? (im car stupid and still learning so please use little words :S) any help would be throughly appreciated

I'd say remove the TB and clean it good....i'd use a non-residue cleaner like electrical contact cleaner or MAF cleaner that CRC makes. I only say that because of the drive-by-wire TB...I haven't cleaned mine yet so I dunno how exposed the electric motor is. Otherwise carb or brake cleaner will work..

Since you just bought it i'd do a full tune-up...along with cleaning your throttle body that should really help your mpg. The 2500's are also pretty heavy compared to a 1500...so your mpg won't be as good.

new plugs, change all your fluids. motor oil and filter, tranny fluids and filters, differntial fluid, mayeb check your belt. id also through some fuel system cleaner in it to help a bit. i boughtmine used and ran some fuel system cleaner in the first 2 tanks and got me like 2.5 mpgs. make sure that throttle body is clean too, just be carefull around the sensor...use a q-tip around there. and use brake cleaner...not throttle boddy cleaner.
