Default oil consumption...

[:@] awww! past two oil changes, my levels have been down. 2 ago, about a quart. this time a little more than that. 02 ram, 360 with 114k miles. no puddles or runs, obvious. and no obvious smoke... at least what i've noticed. it all seems to be running great still; besides being a gas pig. was going to start with changing the plugs, to see if any are oiled up... Anyone help me with what else to look for, before taking to someone? i'm a little worried i'm in trouble here...

can the dodge world help?

ill tell you everytime i changed my oil i was down like 3 quarts.....i started mixing mid and premium gas and cleaning my TB twice per oil change (every 1500 miles) it only takes about 5 mins....now its in between 1 to 1.5 quarts low....i mean synthetic helps as well....my truck runs like **** on conventional....anyway you look at it when you do an oil change ur gonna be lower then when you filled it engines burn oil maybe not a lot but some......remember its a truck it can handle it too.....just do ur research like i did....i use castrol gtx full synthetic every other oil change and Q horsepower full synthetyic every other oil change 5w-20......

thanks for the input... i understand about being a little low, just the way it is... high mileage sythentic is going in, based on recommendations; but will do more research. i guess was just getting paranoid. things seem to turn south in a hurry with me, and want to be up on it, the best i can.

anyone else have input?

Check the PCV vale hose at the opposite end to see it it's oil soaked. If so, pull the valve covers and run a coat hanger down the oil return holes in the head. I had a 440 that was sucking oil and after doing this it cleared right up. Also if the PCV valve doesn't 'Rattle' freely when you shake it, replace it.
