Default Need Help With Wheels

Hey All,

I am looking for new wheels for my '06 Ram Megacab 4x4. They are 8-Lug.

I am looking at the Moto Metal 951's. But I need help understanding backspacing.

I want the wheels/tires to sit as far as possible under the fenders. I don't really like the tires sitting 4" out of the fenders.

I have a leveling kit, so I can fit 35" tires. I am looking at the 20x10 -18 Offset Moto Metal 951's, that's 4 3/4" backspacing with BF Goodrich T/A KO's 285/55/20's.

Or the 18x9's -12 offset, thats 4 1/2" backspacing, but I know since the rim width is different, how far they will sit inside the wheel well's is different.

Can someone with insight on the whole backspace/offset thing chime in here...

Thanks,

-ThaChad

to start off the tire size you are looking on getting are actually smaller then the stock tires so it might look a lil funny, unless it was a typo.. on backspacing not too sure i just oreder 17X9 with 4.75" backspacing withi think 0 offset, a friend of mine has the same rims but he leveled it and put on 35's. good luck

Sorry, I ment 285/65/20. 34.7" Tall.

Do the 17x9's with 4.75" backspacing stock out past the fenders?

Thanks,

Looks like even the stockers stick out with wider tires..

I am suprised that the factory wheels/tires do sit right at the edge of the fenders. Most cars/trucks they are tucked a little under.

I had to put on mud flaps to save the paint.... and they don't totally work....

This is a good pic pre-flap...
