Default Nerf Bars- Need Help!

Looked at my truck this morning and the right side nerf bar is bent upwards near the center. Looks like too sharp a right turn over a snow/ice bank dented it upwards. I can't remember running over a snow bank and my wife says she didn't do it, so I have no idea how it happened.

Questions:

1. Can I "hammer" it back down? Its bent upwards about an inch in the center. My guess is that no amount of work will make it look like new because of the oval shape. I might be able to push thecenter of the bardown but you will still have the upwards dent in the bottom of the bar, correct?

2. Is there any place that sells just a right side bar, or do they always come in pairs? I'd obviously just like to buy a right side bar if anyone sells them that way. Internet site? Performance place? MOPAR parts place?

Any help sure would be appreciated. It is a 08 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and they are MOPAR bars as shown here:

Any help sure would be appreciated. Thanks much.

i dont think there is really anything you can do to make it look new again because it is oval like you said. I have a pair on my 07 that I would like to sell but dont have a box to ship them in. They are the same ones you have.

Sounds like a little bend. Is there an actual crease in the the metal or is it a nice clean bend?

Either way, what you can do is take the bar off, wrap it with a thin blanket, and use a LARGE tree trunk to try and bend it back into shape. If the trunk is to small in diameter, you may cause a crease in the bar. The larger the trunk, the strain of the bend will be put over a larger area, this alot safer. If you don't have a friend that can help, try and find 2 trees side by side or a tree with a split trunk so you can do it yourself.

I have used this method to bend and break alot of stuff. Never a 3" steel bar, but hopefully, since it is hollow, you might be abe to get it to bend.

This would be a poor mans pipe bender...LOL!!!
