Default Lifted diesels

Just curious how they do on gas milage compared to a gaser. Something that gets 16 miles to the gallon and u jack it up 6 inches with 39's, would get around 8 - 12, depending on gearing and other things. Curious if you did the same thing to a diesel would it see same results, or do a little better?

maybe you should post it in the diesel section.

diesels have great torque and thats whats needed in getting it rolling so the decrease in mpg prolly wont be as sig.

I used to get 23 MPG with my Diesel before I lifted it.Now I get 16-18 with 6 inches of lift with 36's.No way you can get 39's with a 6 inch lift.

Not sure what mine got before, but with 6" and 37" tires, I pull around 16-19 mpg. Also, CRMRAM, I had 40's check fit with my 6" lift and they fit, but they rub a little more on the suspension than my 37's and the 37's don't touch the body where the 40's did.

I would love to see pics of that.I put some 40s next to my 36s and it looked like I would take out a god portion of my wheel wells. And I have always been told 37s is the biggest to go on a 6inch lift.

When I need new tires I may move the size up to 40. But you're right, that does take up the better part of the available wheel well.
