I noticed oil build up coming from my PVC hose when I installed my K&N kit. I only have about 8000 miles on my truck and though it was a little excessive for this mileage. I am going to keep an eye on this issue in the mean while. What I am getting at is this could be the source for the carbon build up behind the throttle plate. Like already stated in an earlier post the egr system will deposit some crud into the intake system. The Hemi or Dodge is not the only vehicles having this problem. Just need to clean in the mean while.

Hey man, thanks for the detailed description of how to clean the TB. I was getting around 9.5 to 10.2 and now after giving it a good cleaning it feels like new and my initial run at WOT for approximately 2 miles had her getting 15.5. I can't wait to see how she'll do over the next week on my regular trips back and forth from work if I can keep my foot out of it

 

yea i got the same truck as kramer. but mine has 150k on it. should i check it?

 

Good advice! Clean mine at least once a year.
