Default Fuel Storage question

Hey so ive got 4 10 gallon tanks of gas filled up, i use them when i go to the coast as im no where near a gas station and to go as far down as i go you cant have just one tank of gas.

anyways i havent gone for a while, theyve been sitting around for 4 or 5 months, i know they sell stuff to put in stored fuel but am i too late on doing this or will it be ok if i add it and then use the gas in a few weeks. dont want to waste 40 gal of gas but also dont want to F up my engine

thanks

it is definitly too late to add fuel stabilizer. I'd say to be on the safe side I would not put the fuel in your truck. Fuel is supposed to have a shelf life of 30 days after pumped. That being said, however, if it were me (lol I am cheap) I would mix in one 10-gallon container with every fill up. Adding stale fuel to a large engine like a car engine, especially with the good fuel filters and everything we have nowadaysis usuallyok. It will really screw up smaller engines (like lawnmowers, etc) ... because it causes them to sludge up. So I would say you will probably be ok ... but it's your call!

thanks for the info, I think I may do 5 gal stale/20 gal fresh, wonder if I pour some fuel additive in the tank or run a higher octane if that would help at all, or I'll just have the biggest fire down at the coast. LOL.
