oops, i forgot to put my input into this... ok, get the one big long single chrome nerf bar on each side. singles dont look good to me. they just seem cheapy. like, you HAD to get it on there in the cheapest way possible just to have steps.
Go with AMP Power Steps. One of the best investments I've made so far. Worth the expensive price. Cost me $1900 to have them installed.

I say go with the full-length bars, as well. I don't really like the steps, personally. But, that's just me.
I have the AMP retractable steps on my truck, too. I think I've got them in my pics here, but they look just like the ones above!
I got them for $1100 right from the company, and some buddies put them on for me in about two hours. I've got them for practical reasons, as I physically can't step high enough to reach "normal" step bars, nevermind my truck as-is. These were the only steps I found that came down and out far enough to work for me. I never intended to get step bars when I got my truck (and even when I lifted it), but current situation dictates otherwise. So, it's just serendipitous coincidence that these work for me and then fold out of sight when the door closes. They are nice and wide and provide a very stable footprint with lots of traction. I don't regret the initial investment on them one bit, and I would even recommend them to someone who doesn't necessarily NEED the steps for the same reason I do. Your SO will love them, and I think you will, too. If you have any mechanical/electrical intuition at all, they really didn't seem that hard to install with two people. Just make sure you have all the tools needed (right angle drill and automotive rivet gun are the two "odd ones" that I can think of off the top of my head).

I really like the way the singles look, def a lot more red neck, but thats a good thing. I refuse to put them on my truck, it sits higher since its a 4wd, but even when ive taken it in to the shop i had my buddy lift it 4 and 6 inches and i was still able to get in (im 6.4) so i dont know if i would really ever put them on my truck.
TALKING ABOUT GIRLS SO READ ON lol
all the girls complain, funniest time was i was taking this girl from work to lunch, lil 5ft 1 inch blonde, barely 100 pounds most of it in her chest, always wears 3 inch heels. well the first incident was when she finally opend the door she didnt open it all the way and so it tried to close on her while she was getting in. and when she tried to hop out she broke her heel.
so my vote is for the singles
btw lilfroger i dont want to hear any of your CTD friends coming to your rescue lol, man they are really (i dont know what to call it) but apparently i pissed several off today in that section.
Without reading the replies my opinion is it get running boards or nerf bars. A single step or hide aways are also nice but serve one purpose to help you get in. The other two also protect the lower part of your paint from rocks and other flying crap from the tires.
94rt has a point, thats why he put them on his viper.....
now i dont work, but when i did i would have to wear dress pants and from what ive heard from all my other friends that dont wear jeans to work and have steps nerfs queefs whatever theyll just get your pants leg dirty, so if you wear dark dress pants to work itll have a brown smudge on them (the cuffs not the seat of your pants). me personally if had to "dress up" its gonna be my cinch jeans, my god awfully expensive lucchese boots and a nice george straight or cinch shirt.
