can i cut a hole in the center of my liscence plate to mount a backup camera?

 

I don't think that is legal.

 

the hole is only like 1" or 1 1/8. is there a cop or a state employee out there who can tell me?

 

Well, technically you can not. You cant cut the licence plate down, modify its shape. Or do any other kinds of modification to the plate. Thats law.that does not affect

In reality. If you drill a hole that does not affect the readability of the plate. I dont know a cop that will notice/or care. So i personally would go for it.

Why not just mount it above it? the make camera holders that are licence plate holders.

 

i have a backup camera it called (bullet camera) it is just a round tube that mounts flat

 

i just found out from a police officerthe it is called. defacing/altering the plate
