285/70 BFG? How big compared to 265/70?

285/70 BFG? How big compared to 265/70?
My gf's father has a set of 4 285/70/7 goodrich tires... They looked massive when I stood em up but after seeing pics on here 285's look small on the ram ..and the 305's look good..... should I even bother? tread is awsome still. I have 3.92 gears on a single cap long bed. 265/70 goodyear wranglers on it now

20MM wider and 28MM taller.
The number after the P is the width in MM.
The series is the height of the sides in terms of percentage of the width. So in this case take 70% of 20MM x 2.

I have 255/75/17 bfg mudterrains..which is pretty much a 265/70/17... here's a pic...
