hammer how much was the rear diff cover? I've been looking for one, not much of a selection for the 9.25s. I wish they made that iron cross one for ours but I've only seen it on the 10.25s (that's what the 2500 and up use right)

Side note I think it was you I was talking to a long time ago, well no more than 3 months since I'm new to this forum, did you ever get that warn winch with the air compressor? I'm still looking at the one that fits on the rear hitch, just don't know how it'll look back there. I found the best looking bull bar I've seen so put that on the front so can't put it there.

OK guys, enough of the "I make more than you" stuff. Doesn't make a hill of beans to me. I was HUGE in technology and was making $100k plus a year in my late 20's. Big house, pretty wife. Now at 41, I'm divorced, and mainly due to both my parents illness', I'm making well under $30k as an asst. golf pro & taking care of them. When I get them back on their feet, I'm gonna have to start a career all over again.
It doesn't take much to have it crash down around you. I tried to be the same person when I was making good money as I was when I grew up lower/middle class, and I try to be the same person today.
Just a few pearls from someone a little older who's "been there, done that"...

I think it was only about $60 with the bolts and gasket. No drain hole though, but the more I thought about it, the more I'm glad there is no drain hole. I'd get lazy and use it and not inspect the gears and LSD like you should when changing the lube.
No, I've not gotten that Winch, I would like to, but mine is fine and I have a few things I want to do (cam, etc.) before I start replacing mods I've already done for better ones. Money is a little tight, and my truck mod money went for the Grand Cherokee I bought in November for a daily driver, so it'll be a little while until I have mod money again...

ha lazy *** LOL, yeah I can see myself doing that to. Was it a high capacity, any heat fins? You can always get it tapped for a plug, I run the amsoil 100k mile rated oil so I'm gonna drain it into a new catch pan and pump it back in after I check for those mother loving c clamps. But figure a plug would just make it easier to do that. I need to change the tranny fluid as well and will put a plug in that so next time I change it I don't have all that crap pouring out all sides when you take off the pan.

Your jeep have the 4.7 ho? Sounds familiar that you said that before. How do you like that?

Nah, no fins, just a relatively cheap chrome plated cover for the look. And I HATE tranny fluid changes for that reason. Last time I did the whole tune-up myself but paid the dealer just to do the tranny so I didn't have the huge mess to deal with. I have a replacement driver side pillar in the garage with the temp gauge in it. When I get around to installing it, I have to tap the tranny cover for the temp probe and will tap it for a drain at that time as well.

So far, I love the 4.7 H.O. in the Overland. About 6k miles on it in five months (bought it with 61k) with no problems whatsoever. Solid all around driving 21 mpg's out of it, which isn't shabby for a 4WD V8, I don't think. Only "performance" mod was I droppeda K&N filter in it. There is not much you need to do to an Overland, mod-wise. No CAI needed, because the Intake is high flow, it has what looks to be shory headers (real short, but it's definately not a single solid manifold), upgraded cam and other goodies, all stock. Hell, even a Bose system & speakers. So the only thing I've done to it other than the K&N drop in is add Vent/Visors (a must in Fl.) and I drive the hell out of it...
Just added a couple pics of it to my gallery...

as far as the lift goes, by all means man you should do it...Just be aware that the bigger the tires you go and the higher up you go, you mess with aerodynamics and can gain some pretty ****** mileage...but as everyone has said, to each his own...my 3" spindle lift was perfect...not too high and not stock.
