so i unbolt the sway bar, remove the shock and i come to removing the upper control arm. i remove the bolt and it doesnt come off the lower piece.......i tried a pitmann arm puller and that didnt go over too well. it wouldnt fit so i pulled the screw all the way out and somehow got the arm puller to fit on...but the bolt wont reach the threads to screw.....finally got that to screw too and it ended up stripping....what do i do to remove the upper control arm? get a longer arm puller or what?

 

You're either installing a different kit than the one I used on my 1500 or you're approaching this the wrong way...

 

Smack it with a hammer,it should fall rightoff. Mine did.

 

your not supposed to remove the control arm, just supposed to unbolt the upper ball joint and it will seperate from the spindle with a few taps
